Freddie is one of our most tenured Sales Advisors with 18 years at Leisure Care under her belt!

She states that she has learned valuable life lessons during her tenure with Leisure Care. "It has been these lessons that have given me the ability to share the 'make a difference' philosophy with enthusiasm. I have also had the opportunity to see firsthand that the camaraderie of community, along with the programs and amenities we offer within our communities, truly make a positive impact on our residents' lives each and every day. It's such a good life!"

Freddie also has had the chance to see the benefits of Leisure Care through her loved ones as well. Two of her aunts have lived at Leisure Care communities and her mother is a current resident!

Desiree started working at Fairwinds – Woodward Park in 2002 as a front desk night attendant, and has held several positions over the years, including activities coordinator, move-in coordinator, concierge, and her current role as a guest services manager.

My achievements aren’t measured in my own abilities or what ladder I stand on today, they are measured in the satisfaction of my team and the outcomes they achieve. Without them, I am just another person doing another job. Nursing is at the pivotal epicenter of life and the provision of health and wellness, without such…health and wellness cannot, and do not coexist. Being a nurse means that I have as much fire in me as I do crazy, the advocacy of knowing when it is time to let one shine and extinguish the other can make all the difference in the lives of others. As a nursing leader, I must be slow in my judgments, and fierce in my actions. I must take the time to slow things down and be the advocate for those who cannot articulate how they feel. Whether it be a coworker, a resident of my community, or a family member, it is my responsibility to assess each person as an individual, compare that to previous encounters, and unbiasedly track even the slightest deviation from someone’s baseline to help them achieve the highest level of autonomy or functioning. Leisure Care has just given me a platform to do just that. With a happy balance of the Three-Thirds Lifestyle, I have been enabled to take my personal and professional skill set to the next level…and that’s pretty amazing!

Kerrie Huber

"For me, it's not just a job or career. It’s my mission and I consider it an honor to work with individuals at such a tender time in their lives."


Kerrie began her career as a rehab nurse in skilled nursing in the early 1980s, when skilled settings were combined with traditional long-term care. Then, in a volcanic rumble and exciting paradigm shift, along came hybrid independent communities and the development of assisted living and memory care – and the rest is history.

Since then, Kerrie has worked in several aspects of senior care including healthcare, management, and program development. "I believe in Leisure Care and have a tremendous amount of respect for their dedication to growth and vision."

Courtney Pittman

Executive Chef // Fairwinds – River’s Edgen

"I love my job because of the life style it allows me to live. I have the freedom to express myself through food, and still have the time to be a father and a husband!"


Courtney Pittman is a graduate of the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago. Courtney has honed his craft throughout Missouri, working in several country clubs and high end restaurants.

Courtney received his first Head Chef position at a small retirement community in Jacksonville, Florida. While in this position, Courtney was featured in a local newspaper for his international cuisine and help draw residents to the community, increasing the community’s occupancy from 23% to 65%. Two years later, Courtney was offered a Sous Chef position at Washington University where he learned management and leadership skills leading a large team of chefs. Little did he know that this position would be preparing him for the biggest challenge of his career!

Just one year later Courtney was asked to become the Executive Chef of Fairwinds - River’s Edge. In his three years as Executive Chef, Courtney has consistently worked towards bettering himself and his department. Currently, Courtney manages a staff of approximately 30 employees. He expertly manages a budget of $1.5 million, all while maintaining a positive work atmosphere, exceeding state regulations, and putting a smile on the face of residents!

Courtney was recently awarded the 24 Carrot Gold Food Service Excellence Award from St. Charles Department of Health the for his 100% ratings. Courtney lives in St. Charles with his wife and son, and enjoys making a difference in the lives of others every day while living his passion and sharing his talents!

Machelle Bergeman

Move-In Coordinator // Fairwinds – Sand Creek

"I love getting to know the residents and their families, and making a difference in their lives."


Machelle was a banker for many years until she discovered her true passion: working with seniors. That is, of course, in addition to her passion for family, which includes taking care of her husband, three children, and two grandbabies.

Jason Tijsseling

Jason and his wife moved to Seattle from Las Vegas to get a change of pace, and ended up hanging their professional hats at Leisure Care. His wife is the restaurant supervisor at The Bellettini in Bellevue, and he’s the IT Director in our corporate office downtown Seattle.

Sabrina Feagaiga

A mentor once told me, “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” I have not only found that in Senior Living, but specifically working for Leisure Care.


Since beginning with Leisure Care in 2012, Sabrina has had so many opportunities to grow in various roles including activities director, concierge, move-in coordinator, sales advisor, guest services manager, and now, general manager. Sabrina prides herself in the Leisure Care values—having a three-thirds lifestyle, doing the right thing, and positively impacting every single person you come in contact with.

Sabrina has been married to her wife Dena since 2017. Together, they have two loveable dogs. In her free time, she is actively involved in The VFW Auxiliary and VFW Warriors Riding Organization. She also enjoys traveling and her favorite place is the Dominican Republic.
